Film: The beat goes on and on
Get your glad rags on for a local trip down memory lane! 'The beat goes on and on' was filmed with a group of retired people helped by Toxteth TV. Narrated by Roger Phillips from Radio Merseyside.
The film includes interviews with bands, musicians and singers who played skiffle folk and jazz including Kenny Ball in Liverpool in the 40's 50's and 60's prior to 'Mersey beat' and the Beatles. It also includes interviews with local people who visited dance halls such as the Rialto, the Mardi Gras, the Grafton and New Brighton tower.
